We have all heard about the immune system protecting our body from the nasty infectious bugs and pathogens, however what if the same protective immune system begins to attack your own self-tissues resulting in diseases? This “dark side” of the immune system is exactly what intrigued me about the concept of autoimmune diseases and wished to explore it at a deeper level. Autoimmune disease is ruthless in the sense that it can absolutely affect anyone regardless of age or gender. Having witnessed the devastating outcome of this disease, it further spurred my interest to take up this topic and deliver it in an engaging, yet informative way through a podcast.

I hope to share my personal work on this safe space, in effort to promote support and awareness about the prevalence of autoimmune diseases and my take on this issue with the wider scientific community as well as the general public.
